We accept submissions from female authors only, with no exceptions.<br />The Wicked Words series of short stories has proved very popular. As from spring 2005 we will produce Wicked Words themed collections at the rate of 2-4 per year. These rules will apply: your short story should be approximately 4,000 - 6,000 words long and not published anywhere in the world - websites excepted. Thematically, it should be written with the <a href="http://www.erotica-readers.com/ERA/G/BlackLace.htm">Black Lace guidelines</a> in mind, although slightly more envelope-pushing and experimental storylines are welcome. Ideally there should be a 'sting in the tale' and an element of dramatic tension.<br />Obviously you will not be tied to having to provide detailed plot, numerous characters and enough varied types of sex to fill a novel, but the story should be about more than 'some people having sex'. Black Lace authors - and the readers - tend to write/like material hotter than this.<br />The key words apply: experimental; forbidden; transgressive; decadent; liberating. For a good idea of the kind of stories we like, get hold of a Wicked Words compilation.<br />We pay a flat fee of £200 providing your story is over 4000 words. Payment is made on publication.<br />Competition rules will apply to short stories. you will hear back from us about your story only if it has been successful.
